The Path To the 2024 World Championships hosted this June in Edmonton, Alberta has begun, and Football Canada is looking to identify the top tackle football athletes across the country to represent Team Canada as we compete for our third consecutive gold medal. We would like to extend an invitation to any players born in 2004, 2005 and 2006 to attend one of our nationwide ID Camps, scheduled to take place this December. These camps serve as a crucial platform for us to assess and evaluate the top talent across the country, ultimately forming the roster for the World Championship. 

This camp will provide you with the opportunity to showcase your abilities in a competitive and challenging environment. It will also be a chance for our coaching staff to interact with you personally and gain a deeper understanding of your playing style and potential contributions to the team. Every player will be issued a Football Canada practice jersey for the ID camp which will be kept by the player after the event.   

Eligible birth years: 2004, 2005 and 2006

Update Nov 16,23 IFAF just clarified age eligibility and players born in 2007 are not eligible as was previously indicated in all Football Canada correspondence, but may attend for development working with next-level coaches from our provinical teams, Bisons, Rifles, as well as National Junior Team.

The ID camps will include positional drills, 1 v 1’s, competition periods, and team periods. The camp will be filmed for the coach’s review as the top 67 players are selected. Prior to the ID Camp, you will be asked to submit your height and weight through our mobile test application PurpleShift, details on this process will be sent to your email following registration.

June 15-20, 2024: Red-White Camp  

June 20, 2024: Final team roster announcement and commencement of the IFAF 20U World Junior Championships
